Regionalliga Nordost: Lok Leipzig on a run
Coach Seitz explains the series
Lokomotive Leipzig celebrated their third win in a row in the Regionalliga Nordost. After a 1-0 win against VSG Altglienicke, the Saxons are now third in the table. Lok coach Almedin Civa praised his team for their "great performance".
The goal of the day was scored by Benjamin Bellot in the 35th minute. The Frenchman headed in a cross from the right wing. Lok was the better team in the first half and had several good chances to score. In the second half, Altglienicke was more dangerous, but Lok were able to defend their lead.
"We are very happy with the three points," said Civa. "We played a good game and deserved to win." Lok is now unbeaten in seven games and has moved up to third place in the table. "We are on a good run at the moment," said Civa. "We want to continue this series and move up the table."
The reasons for the series
There are several reasons for Lok's current run of success. The team has found a good balance between offense and defense. Lok has scored 11 goals in their last three games, but they have also kept three clean sheets.
Another reason for Lok's success is the good atmosphere in the team. "The team spirit is very good," said Civa. "The players fight for each other and they support each other." The team has also benefited from the return of several injured players.
Lok is now one of the favorites for promotion to the 3rd division. However, Civa remains cautious. "We are taking it one game at a time," said the coach. "We want to continue our good run and see where it takes us."
