Chiefs Injury Update: Mahomes questionable for Saints game
Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is questionable to play in Sunday's game against the New Orleans Saints after suffering a concussion in last week's loss to the Denver Broncos.
Mahomes was injured in the third quarter of the game after being sacked by Broncos linebacker Von Miller. He was taken to the locker room and did not return to the game.
After the game, Mahomes underwent a concussion protocol and was cleared to practice on Wednesday. However, he did not participate in Thursday's practice and is listed as questionable for Sunday's game.
If Mahomes is unable to play on Sunday, backup quarterback Chad Henne will start in his place. Henne has started six games for the Chiefs in his career, including two this season.
In other injury news, wide receiver Tyreek Hill is also questionable for Sunday's game with a hamstring injury. Hill suffered the injury in the first quarter of last week's game and did not return.
If Hill is unable to play on Sunday, the Chiefs will be without their top two wide receivers. Sammy Watkins and Mecole Hardman are expected to start in place of Hill and Watkins.
The Chiefs are coming off a disappointing loss to the Broncos and will be looking to rebound against the Saints. The Saints are 5-2 this season and have won their last three games.
The game between the Chiefs and Saints will be played at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:25 p.m. CT.
