Anthony Davis Ruled Out for Game 4
Nuggets Gain Key Advantage in Western Conference Semifinals
Injury Report: Lakers vs. Nuggets Game 4
In a major blow to the Los Angeles Lakers' hopes of tying the Western Conference semifinals, star forward Anthony Davis has been ruled out for Game 4 due to a left knee injury. Davis suffered the injury in the third quarter of Game 3 and did not return.
The Lakers, who trail the Denver Nuggets 2-1 in the best-of-seven series, will now be without their leading scorer and rebounder for at least one game. Davis has averaged 28.8 points and 11.8 rebounds per game in the playoffs, and his absence will be a significant loss for the Lakers.
The Nuggets, on the other hand, will be looking to take advantage of Davis' absence and take a commanding 3-1 lead in the series. Denver has won the last two games of the series, and they will be confident of their chances of winning Game 4 at home.
The Lakers will need to find a way to replace Davis' production, and they will likely turn to Kyle Kuzma and JaVale McGee to step up. Kuzma has averaged 16.5 points per game in the playoffs, while McGee has averaged 9.5 points and 7.5 rebounds per game.
Game 4 of the Western Conference semifinals between the Lakers and Nuggets is scheduled for Monday, September 14 at 9:00 PM ET.
