Draper defeats Daniel Altmaier in three sets, Noskova upsets eighth seed Danielle Collins

LONDON - Jack Draper, who reached the semi-finals of the US Open last month, continued his impressive form with a hard-fought three-set victory over Daniel Altmaier in the second round of the Erste Bank Open in Vienna on Wednesday.

The 21-year-old British player, who is ranked 48th in the world, won 7-6 (7), 6-7 (4), 7-5 in a match that lasted almost three hours.

Draper, who saved a match point in the second set, will face either top seed Andrey Rublev or Corentin Moutet in the quarter-finals.

In the women's draw, Linda Noskova of the Czech Republic upset eighth seed Danielle Collins of the United States 6-3, 6-4 to reach the quarter-finals.

The 18-year-old Noskova, who is ranked 54th in the world, broke Collins' serve twice in each set.

Noskova will face either second seed Maria Sakkari or qualifier Jule Niemeier in the quarter-finals.

Grigor Dimitrov of Bulgaria, the 2017 champion, was knocked out in the second round by qualifier Jiri Lehecka of the Czech Republic 6-4, 6-3.

Lehecka, who is ranked 77th in the world, broke Dimitrov's serve three times in the match.

Lehecka will face either fourth seed Jannik Sinner or wildcard Filip Misolic in the quarter-finals.
