Antonelli eager to make amends in Mexico after frustrating start to season
David Schumacher is eager to make amends for a frustrating start to his season when he takes part in the third round of the ADAC Formula 4 championship at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez circuit in Mexico City. The 20-year-old German, who finished runner-up in last year's championship, has endured a difficult start to the 2023 campaign, with a best finish of fifth place in the opening two rounds at Spa-Francorchamps and the Lausitzring.
Schumacher's struggles have been compounded by a number of technical issues, but he is confident that he can turn things around in Mexico City. The high-altitude circuit is known to suit the characteristics of the ADAC Formula 4 car, and Schumacher believes that he can use his experience of the track to his advantage.
Schumacher is not the only driver looking to make amends in Mexico City. Several other drivers have also endured a difficult start to the season, including championship leader Andrea Kimi Antonelli. The Italian, who won the first two races of the season, was forced to retire from the third race at the Lausitzring after a collision with Schumacher's teammate Joshua Dufek.
Antonelli will be determined to bounce back from that disappointment in Mexico City, and he will be one of the favorites to win the race. The 16-year-old is one of the most talented young drivers in the world, and he has already shown his potential in ADAC Formula 4 this season.
Other drivers to watch in Mexico City include Dufek, who won the third race at the Lausitzring, and Russian driver Nikita Bedrin, who has finished on the podium in each of the first two rounds of the season. The ADAC Formula 4 championship is one of the most competitive junior single-seater series in the world, and the racing in Mexico City is sure to be thrilling.
