SSV Jahn Regensburg’s Dreadful Home Run Continues

With a 2:0 Home Defeat Against SV Elversberg, Jahn Now Hasn’t Won in Four Games at the Jahnstadion Regensburg

After the defeat in the DFB Cup against Borussia Dortmund, SSV Jahn Regensburg also lost their home game in the 2nd Bundesliga against SV Elversberg with 0:2 (0:1). The Upper Palatinate team remains without a win in front of their home crowd this year and is now under pressure before the away game at Hansa Rostock next Saturday.

In front of 7,056 spectators, Jahn started the game well and had the first chance through Prince Osei Owusu after seven minutes. But the Ghanaian’s shot went just wide of the left post. Elversberg then came more and more into the game and took the lead through Kevin Koffi in the 34th minute.

After the break, Jahn tried to increase the pressure, but Elversberg remained dangerous on the counterattack. In the 78th minute, Jannik Rochelt made it 0:2 for the guests with a直接 free kick. Jahn then threw everything forward, but could not score anymore.

With the defeat, Jahn remains in 13th place in the table with 30 points. Elversberg, on the other hand, climbed to fourth place with 36 points.

Jahn coach Mersad Selimbegovic was disappointed after the game:

"We started well, but then we made too many mistakes. Elversberg was more efficient and deserved to win. We have to improve our performance, especially at home."

Elversberg coach Horst Steffen was satisfied with the performance of his team:

"We played a very good game and deserved to win. We were compact in defense and dangerous on the counterattack. I am very proud of my team."

Outlook:

For Jahn, the next away game is next Saturday at Hansa Rostock. Elversberg will host FC St. Pauli at home on the same day.
