Los Angeles Angels two-way star Shohei Ohtani discussed the potential World Series matchup between the New York Yankees and Los Angeles Dodgers on Tuesday.
Ohtani, who is one of the most exciting players in baseball, said he is "honored" to be a part of the Angels this season and is excited for the opportunity to face the Yankees or Dodgers in the World Series.
"It would be an honor to play in the World Series," Ohtani said through an interpreter. "The Yankees and Dodgers are two of the best teams in baseball, so it would be a great challenge."
Ohtani is having a breakout season for the Angels, hitting 45 home runs and stealing 26 bases. He is also 9-2 with a 3.18 ERA on the mound.
The Angels are currently in third place in the American League West, but they are still in contention for a wild-card berth.
The Yankees and Dodgers are the two favorites to win the World Series this year. The Yankees have won 27 World Series titles, while the Dodgers have won six.
The World Series is scheduled to begin on Oct. 28.
