Piauiense who allegedly grabbed women in SP has his preventive detention decreed

The ruling was made on Tuesday (14) and is the result of an investigation that began in 2022

The Justice of São Paulo (SP) decreed the preventive detention of a man from Piauí accused of grabbing women in public places in the capital of São Paulo.

The ruling was handed down on Tuesday (14) and is the result of an investigation launched in 2022 by the Special Police Station for the Defense of Women (DEEM).

According to the investigation, the man acted in the region of the Anhangabaú Valley, in the center of São Paulo, where he would approach women and, without their consent, touch their breasts and buttocks.

The police identified the suspect through security camera footage and, after obtaining an arrest warrant, arrested him in Piauí.

He will now be transferred to São Paulo, where he will remain in prison until his trial.
