Duke Remains Top-Ranked Team in NCAA

The No. 1-ranked Duke women's soccer team continued its impressive start to the season on Thursday night, shutting out Boston College 7-0 at Koskinen Stadium in Durham, North Carolina.

The Blue Devils, who entered the game with a 9-0-0 record, dominated from start to finish, outshooting the Eagles 30-4 and holding them without a shot on goal.

Duke opened the scoring in the 15th minute when sophomore midfielder Tess Boade curled a shot into the top corner of the net from just outside the 18-yard box.

The Blue Devils added to their lead in the 28th minute when senior forward Michelle Cooper headed home a cross from freshman midfielder Ruthie Jones.

Duke continued to pour it on in the second half, with goals from sophomore midfielder Clara Robbins, junior forward Ashely Owusu, and freshman defender Emily Royson.

The Blue Devils' victory extends their winning streak to 10 games and keeps them atop the NCAA Division I women's soccer rankings.

Duke will return to action on Sunday, October 2, when they travel to Charlottesville, Virginia, to face the No. 12-ranked Virginia Cavaliers.
