Location change for Nevada volleyball rally

Due to safety concerns, the Nevada volleyball rally, originally scheduled to be held outdoors at the Virginia Street Plaza in downtown Reno on Saturday afternoon, has been relocated to the Reno-Sparks Convention Center. Doors will open at 12:30 p.m. for the free event, which will begin at 1:30 p.m. and feature food, games, live music, and player autographs. The team will hold an open scrimmage at 2:30 p.m., giving fans a chance to see the Wolf Pack in action before the season starts next week.

Reason for the location change

Event organizers moved the event because of hazardous weather that is expected to hit Reno on Saturday.

Wolf Pack coach Lee Nelson said the team is looking forward to meeting the fans at the RSCVA convention center. "We are excited to have our annual fan rally this Saturday at the RSCVA Convention Center," Nelson said. "It's a great opportunity for our fans to come out and meet the team, get autographs, and see us scrimmage. We're looking forward to a great turnout and a lot of fun."

The Nevada volleyball team opens the 2023 season on Friday, Aug. 25, at the Duke Classic in Durham, North Carolina. The Wolf Pack's home opener is set for Tuesday, Aug. 29, against UC Davis at the Lawlor Events Center.
