Lok Leipzig Extends Lead in Regionalliga With Win Over Hertha Zehlendorf

Leipzig's Unbeaten Streak Continues

Lokomotive Leipzig extended their unbeaten run in the Regionalliga Nordost to nine games with a 2-0 victory over Hertha BSC II on Saturday. The hosts took the lead early in the first half through Exequiel Palacios and doubled their advantage in the second period thanks to a strike from Justin Eilers.

The result sees Lok Leipzig move three points clear at the top of the table, while Hertha Zehlendorf remain in 11th place.

Palacios Gives Lok Leipzig the Lead

Lok Leipzig started the game brightly and took the lead in the 10th minute when Palacios fired home from close range after good work from Eilers down the left flank.

The hosts continued to press for a second goal, but Hertha Zehlendorf defended resolutely and kept the scoreline at 1-0 going into the break.

Eilers Seals the Win

Lok Leipzig continued to dominate possession in the second half and eventually doubled their lead in the 65th minute when Eilers slotted home from inside the area following a cross from the right by Benny Schmidt.

Hertha Zehlendorf pushed for a goal in the closing stages, but Lok Leipzig held firm to secure the victory.

Lok Leipzig's Impressive Form

Lok Leipzig's victory over Hertha Zehlendorf was their ninth unbeaten game in the Regionalliga Nordost this season. They have now won seven of those matches and drawn two, conceding just three goals in the process.

The win takes Lok Leipzig three points clear at the top of the table, and they will be confident of maintaining their lead when they host BFC Dynamo in their next match on Saturday.

Hertha Zehlendorf's Struggles Continue

Hertha Zehlendorf's defeat to Lok Leipzig was their third in their last four matches, and they now sit in 11th place in the table.

The Berlin club have struggled for consistency this season and will need to improve their form if they want to challenge for promotion to the 3. Liga.
