Lakers Host Suns Despite Key Injures
Los Angeles Faces Off Against Phoenix Despite Injury To Key Player
The Los Angeles Lakers will host the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday night despite a key injury to starting point guard Jalen Hood-Schifino. Hood-Schifino is out with an illness, and his absence will be a major blow to the Lakers, who are already struggling with a number of injuries.
In addition to Hood-Schifino, the Lakers are also without Anthony Davis (foot), LeBron James (ankle), and Lonnie Walker IV (knee). Davis and James are both considered day-to-day, but Walker is expected to miss multiple weeks with his injury.
The Suns, on the other hand, are relatively healthy. They will be without Deandre Ayton (ankle), but Ayton is expected to return to the lineup soon.
The Lakers will need to find a way to replace Hood-Schifino's production if they want to win on Wednesday night. Dennis Schroder is expected to start in place of Hood-Schifino, but he has struggled with consistency this season.
The Lakers will also need to find a way to slow down Devin Booker, who is averaging 27.6 points per game this season. Booker is one of the best shooting guards in the NBA, and he will be a handful for the Lakers' defense.
The Lakers and Suns will tip off at 10:00 p.m. ET on Wednesday night. The game will be televised on ESPN.
