Knicks Overcome Slow Start to Secure Victory
The New York Knicks kicked off their season with a hard-fought 119-113 victory over the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday night at Madison Square Garden. Despite trailing by as many as 12 points in the first half, the Knicks rallied in the second half to secure the win.
Barrett Leads the Way
RJ Barrett led the Knicks with 26 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists. The third-year forward was efficient from the field, shooting 9-of-16, and was a force on the defensive end with 3 steals.
Randle and Fournier Contribute
Julius Randle and Evan Fournier also had strong performances for the Knicks. Randle finished with 25 points, 12 rebounds, and 6 assists, while Fournier added 19 points and 5 rebounds.
Pacers Keep it Close
The Pacers kept the game close throughout, led by Malcolm Brogdon's 22 points and 7 assists. Domantas Sabonis also had a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds.
Knicks Defense Steps Up
After allowing the Pacers to shoot 50% from the field in the first half, the Knicks defense tightened up in the second half. They held the Pacers to just 39% shooting in the third quarter and forced 7 turnovers.
Strong Bench Play
The Knicks also received a boost from their bench, as Immanuel Quickley and Obi Toppin combined for 24 points. Quickley was particularly impressive, scoring 13 points in the fourth quarter to help seal the victory.

The Knicks will continue their homestand on Friday night when they host the Milwaukee Bucks. The Pacers will travel to Toronto to face the Raptors on Saturday night.
