Jewel Andrew debuts as West Indies bowl; Nissanka back for Sri Lanka
West Indies to debut Jewel Andrew
Paceman Jewel Andrew has been included in West Indies‘ squad for the upcoming three-Test series against Sri Lanka, starting on March 16 in Antigua.
The 22-year-old has played four first-class matches and picked up 13 wickets.
He is likely to make his Test debut in the series-opener at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium. Meanwhile, Sri Lanka have recalled opening batsman Pathum Nissanka.
Nissanka returns to Sri Lanka squad
Nissanka was dropped for the recent Test series against Australia but has been recalled for the tour of the Caribbean.
The 24-year-old has played 13 Tests and scored 845 runs at an average of 37.95.
He will be hoping to make a big contribution in the series against the West Indies.
Series schedule
The three-Test series between West Indies and Sri Lanka will be played as follows:
- 1st Test: March 16-20 at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua
- 2nd Test: March 24-28 at the Darren Sammy National Cricket Stadium in St Lucia
- 3rd Test: March 31-April 4 at the Kensington Oval in Barbados
