Rams Starters Ruled Out Against 49ers
Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay ruled starting quarterback Matthew Stafford and wide receiver Cooper Kupp out in the Rams' Week 8 game with the San Francisco 49ers
The Rams will be without two offensive starters - quarterback Matthew Stafford and wide receiver Cooper Kupp - when they play the 49ers on Sunday.
Los Angeles head coach Sean McVay announced the news on Friday, saying that Stafford is still in concussion protocol and Kupp is dealing with an ankle injury.
Stafford suffered a concussion in the Rams' Week 7 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, while Kupp re-aggravated an ankle injury in the same game.
John Wolford Likely to Start at QB
Bryce Perkins, a second-year quarterback who joined the Rams in 2021, is also likely to be out due to a thumb injury.
That leaves the Rams with John Wolford as the likely starter at quarterback against the 49ers.
Wolford started two games for the Rams last season, going 1-1 as a starter. He completed 56.8% of his passes for 316 yards and two touchdowns with two interceptions.
