Gosens on Lightning Move to Florence: "I knew that it’s extremely unfortunate"
His move from Bergamo to Tuscany was perfect. The German national player explains why switching clubs was the correct move.
Robin Gosens switched from Atalanta Bergamo to Inter Milan in January for a transfer fee of 25 million euros. Half a year later, the German international loaned out to AC Florence for the upcoming season. The 28-year-old is happy with the loan and explains why it had to be a step back in the career.
"I'm really happy to be here in Florence. I was well received by the team and the fans. I'm grateful to be able to play for such a big club," Gosens said at the official press conference. "I'm looking forward to the new season and I'm sure we can achieve a lot together."
Gosens explains reasons for change
Gosens also talked about the reasons for his departure from Atalanta. "I had a great time in Bergamo and I would like to thank the club for everything. But I felt that it was time for a change. I wanted to take the next step in my career." Gosens had also been linked with a change to Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen
"I spoke to the coach and he told me that he sees me as an important part of his team. That was very important for me. I feel very good here and I'm convinced that we can achieve a lot together," Gosens said.
