English Premier League: Aston Villa beat Bournemouth 2-0 at home

Ollie Watkins and Leon Bailey goals give Villa a 2-0 victory

Aston Villa defeated Bournemouth 2-0 at Villa Park on Saturday afternoon in the Premier League.

Ollie Watkins put Villa ahead in the 7th minute, and Leon Bailey doubled the lead in the 80th minute.

The win moved Villa up to 11th place in the table, while Bournemouth dropped to 19th.

Bournemouth started the game brightly, but it was Villa who took the lead. Watkins scored from close range after a cross from Lucas Digne.

Villa controlled the game for most of the first half, but Bournemouth had a chance to equalize just before the break when Dominic Solanke hit the post.

In the second half, Bournemouth continued to press, but Villa defended resolutely. Bailey made the game safe for Villa in the 80th minute when he scored from a free-kick.

The win was Villa's first in the Premier League since the opening day of the season.

It was also a good day for Watkins, who scored his first Premier League goal since February.

Bournemouth, meanwhile, are now without a win in their last five games.
