DURHAM, N.C. – The No. 1 Duke Blue Devils held on to defeat the Boston College Eagles, 2-1, in a hard-fought ACC matchup on Thursday night at Koskinen Stadium. The Blue Devils (13-2-1, 7-1-1 ACC) got on the board first when Michelle Cooper scored in the 15th minute. The Eagles (8-6-2, 3-4-2 ACC) tied the game in the 35th minute on a goal by Olivia Vaughn. Duke regained the lead in the 55th minute when Caitlin Cosme scored the eventual game-winner. Duke outshot Boston College, 15-9, and had a 7-3 advantage in corner kicks. Sarah Piper made five saves in goal for the Blue Devils, while Abigail Levy made four saves for the Eagles.

Cooper Scores Early for Duke

The Blue Devils got off to a fast start when Cooper scored in the 15th minute. Cooper received a pass from Cosme and beat Levy to the lower right corner. It was Cooper's seventh goal of the season.

Eagles Tie the Game in the First Half
