Chiefs to Start Backup CB Joshua Williams against Jaguars

Williams replaces McDuffie (hamstring) while Jaguars D adjusts to Trevor Lawrence's absence

Kansas City Chiefs starting cornerback L'Jarius McDuffie has been ruled out for this week's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars with a hamstring injury. Joshua Williams will start in his place.

McDuffie suffered the injury in the Chiefs' 27-24 loss to the Indianapolis Colts last week. He did not practice this week and is expected to miss multiple games.

Williams, a rookie from Fayetteville State, has played in four games this season and has recorded five tackles. He will be making his first career start against the Jaguars.

The Jaguars' defense will be without starting quarterback Trevor Lawrence, who is out with a concussion. C.J. Beathard will start in his place.

The Jaguars' defense has been one of the most improved units in the NFL this season. They are allowing just 18.7 points per game, which is tied for fifth in the league.

The Chiefs' offense is averaging 29.2 points per game, which is tied for third in the league. They will be looking to take advantage of the Jaguars' backup quarterback.

The game will be played at TIAA Bank Field in Jacksonville, Florida. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET.
