Car explosion in Israel leaves several injured

At least 10 people were injured in a car explosion in central Israel on Wednesday, police said.

The blast occurred in the city of Ramat Gan, near Tel Aviv, at around 8:30 a.m. local time. The cause of the explosion is still under investigation, but police are treating it as a possible terror attack.

Three of the injured are in serious condition, and the others are in moderate to light condition.

The explosion caused significant damage to the car and surrounding buildings. A nearby school was evacuated as a precaution.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited the scene of the explosion and condemned the attack.

"This is a cowardly and heinous act of terror," Netanyahu said. "We will not rest until we bring the perpetrators to justice."

The explosion comes just days after a similar attack in the city of Lod, which also injured several people.

The Israeli government has been on high alert since a wave of violence began in March. The violence has been fueled by a number of factors, including the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the tensions surrounding the holy month of Ramadan.

The United States has condemned the attack and called on Israel to investigate the incident thoroughly.
